Applix Promotes Michael Morrison to Chief Operating Officer, Hires 2 Others

Applix Inc., a provider of business management software, on Wednesday named Michael Morrison chief operating officer.

Morrison was previously vice president of worldwide field and marketing operations. He joined Applix in 2004.

Also, Applix hired Ben Plummer as senior vice president of worldwide marketing and strategic alliances. He was most recently senior vice president and chief marketing officer at software company Outlooksoft.

Mary Murphy, previously a human resources executive with marketing company m-Qube Inc., has been named vice president of human resources.
